CCTV Camera OEMs in India: Seven Brands and Who Makes Them

The CCTV camera OEMs in India covered here, Bosch, CP Plus, Honeywell, Panasonic, Sparsh, Vicon and Vivotek, reach buyers through fifteen entries in the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) register of CCTV models that meet the government’s security requirements, and those entries point to twelve factory addresses in five countries.[1] Behind the seven logos sit seven different arrangements, from an Indian brand that owns its plant to a Taiwanese maker that Delta Electronics has bought out, via a former Bosch business now owned by an investment firm. Our argument is that a city or building owner should judge who will answer for the registered model, its factory and its firmware for the whole contract, because the logo no longer tells you that.

This is not a ranking, and brands appear in alphabetical order. Facts come from the BIS register as we read it on 26 October 2026, government notices, and company filings, releases and web pages; where a figure is a company’s claim, we say so. We label launches, local assembly, MoUs, compliance claims and advisories as different things. Disclosure: aigence, advertised at the end, is Trisim’s video analytics business. No camera maker paid for, reviewed or was consulted on this article.

Since 1 April 2026, the BIS register is the first filter, not the brochure

On 16 January 2026 the electronics ministry (MeitY) withdrew the relaxation that let old stock be sold. From 1 April 2026, no CCTV camera that fails the security Essential Requirements (ERs) notified on 9 April 2024 may be sold in India.[2] In a Lok Sabha reply on 25 March 2026, the government said 507 camera models were certified, that the origin of critical components such as the System-on-Chip (SoC) must now be documented, and that government departments are restricted from buying non-compliant CCTV equipment.[3] Business Standard reported on 7 September 2026, citing MeitY, more than 196 certified network-camera models until August.[4] The counts differ in scope and date, and we do not reconcile them.

STQC says its earlier network-camera product list is no longer updated.[5] BIS’s register shows each registration number (R-number), manufacturer and address, brand, status, validity date and models covered.[1]

Source: BIS register, read on 26 October 2026.[1] Model counts are distinct model numbers we counted. They show the breadth of a range, not quality. NEXIVUE is Aditya Infotech’s new brand; the Kadapa plant also holds entries under Qubo and NORDEN, which we left out.

The earliest validity date is 17 November 2026, for the two March Networks models registered to Vivotek Inc.; i-PRO’s runs to 2 January 2027; the latest is September 2031, for the Panasonic-brand models. A five-year contract signed this year runs past nearly all of them, and replacement cameras bought in year three or four must conform on the day they are sold.

Vivotek is now Delta’s, and Tamil Nadu production began on 21 October 2026

Vivotek Inc. is the BIS manufacturer for R-41089311 (VIVOTEK brand, 20 IP models) and R-41240982 (March Networks brand, two models), both in Taoyuan, Taiwan.[1] Delta Electronics bought 49.2% of Vivotek in October 2017.[27] In December 2025 the boards approved a bid for the rest.[28] The merger of Vivotek’s branded business with Canada’s March Networks, announced on 23 March 2026, was reported complete on 13 April; Vivotek’s contract-manufacturing arm stays independent.[24][25]

On 21 October 2026 Delta Electronics India said it had begun producing Vivotek cameras at Krishnagiri, Tamil Nadu, starting with a series it says will be fully compliant with BIS ER-01. Mid-to-high-end AI models are a stated plan, with no dates.[26][29] This is local production, not proof of compliance: on 26 October the register shows no Krishnagiri address and no Delta registrant,[1] so a buyer cannot yet tie a Krishnagiri-built model to an R-number. March Networks said on 7 September 2026 that certain EL2 models passed BIS ER-01 STQC; we did not find them in the register.[30]

Panasonic’s cameras in India: i-PRO builds in Japan, Vadodara holds one entry

Panasonic Corporation does not make these cameras. i-PRO Co., Ltd. was set up in October 2019 as a separation from Panasonic, with Polaris Capital co-investing, and took its present name on 1 April 2022.[14][31] BIS lists i-PRO, at Tosu, Saga, for 16 IP models (R-41245950),[1] and i-PRO says its Saga factory began operating on 1 October 2025.[16] Panasonic Life Solutions India says its i-PRO and Advidia cameras are exclusively imported and marketed by it.[15] Separately, R-72017680 lists two PANASONIC-brand models with Matrix Comsec of Vadodara as manufacturer.[1] A reseller’s page calls one of them India-built;[32] we found no Panasonic or Matrix statement on the arrangement.

Two 2026 Panasonic items are not CCTV camera launches. Panasonic Life Solutions India launched its VL-VQ SIP video intercom for housing projects in March 2026.[33] On 6 October 2026 Panasonic Corporation announced a collaboration with Google Home on residential intercoms and cameras, with no India product stated.[34] We found no India camera announcement from Panasonic or i-PRO in the past twelve months; Panasonic India’s news page lists items from 2023.[35]

Bosch’s video business is now IQSIGHT, but BIS still names Bosch Security Systems

Confirmed, as of 26 October 2026. The sale to Triton completed on 30 June 2025.[6] In India, Bosch Limited’s board approved on 28 January 2025 the sale of its video, access and communication businesses to Keenfinity India Private Limited for at least ₹595 crore; the transfer completed on 1 May 2025.[36][37] A letter Keenfinity GmbH sent to authorities on 22 January 2026 says the video unit is IQSIGHT B.V. and the Ovar company is Keenfinity, S.A., formerly Bosch Security Systems S.A. It says markings may name former Bosch entities, new Keenfinity companies or both, without affecting certification validity, and that Bosch branding may continue for a limited grace period.[38] We read it on fccid.co. IQSIGHT launched globally on 19 February 2026 as “the evolution of Bosch Video Systems”.[39]

Not confirmed. We found nothing that sets the date Indian products are relabelled, the length of the grace period, or whether BIS entries will be amended; the register still names Bosch Security Systems at Ovar (R-41087416) and Chicony (R-41222100).[1] Bosch announced a “Made in India” FLEXIDOME line at Naganathapura in August 2024, before the sale;[40] we found no later statement about it and no 2026 India camera launch. Ask each bidder in writing: which legal entity gives the India warranty, who owns firmware updates for the offered model, and under which registrant name it is listed on the bid date.

Eleven dated developments in 2026, and what each one proves

Local production is not compliance, an MoU is not a product, an advisory covers named models, and a global launch is not an India launch.

Two older items are often quoted as current. CP Plus signed a master collaboration agreement with L&T Semiconductor Technologies on India-designed SoCs in July 2024, not 2026.[46] A follow-on of 15 October 2025 says CP Plus will make nine million IP cameras on L&T’s SoC over three years.[47] Both are company statements; neither names a shipping model.

A registration covers one model, one factory and one firmware build

BIS’s 2024 guidelines group models into a tested series only if they share the same SoC and circuit-board layout and run identical firmware versions with matching hash values; different versions are tested as separate series.[48] Each R-number names one manufacturer at one address.[1] So three things can move under a buyer during a contract: the factory (Kadapa capacity is to double[9], Vivotek now builds in Tamil Nadu[26], Sparsh is building at Kashipur[19]), the brand and owner (IQSIGHT, Delta), and the firmware, since every security patch changes the tested build. Vicon’s India managing director asked in February 2026 for a “more streamlined and clearly defined process for firmware updates and the addition of new models within an approved series”.[22] The supplier should show in writing how each change is handled.

Eight lines to add to the camera schedule before bids open

This checklist is our recommendation, not government policy; adapt it to your procurement rules.

  1. R-number per model. List the R-number, manufacturer, factory address and validity for each offered model, and check them against the register on the bid date.[1]
  2. Test report and firmware hash. Ask for the test report covering the offered model and the firmware version and hash to be delivered.[48]
  3. Change notice. Require written notice of any change in factory, brand name, registrant or ownership, with evidence that replacement units stay registered.
  4. SoC disclosure. Ask for the SoC make, model and country of origin.[3]
  5. ONVIF, verified. Check claimed profiles on ONVIF’s conformant products list, not only the datasheet.[49] Our piece on why Profile T now matters more than Profile S explains what to ask for.
  6. A pilot on the real stack. Test the cameras with the VMS and analytics the city will run; see the video management and analytics guide and our note on piloting analytics on your own cameras.
  7. Patch terms. Name the firmware support period, a vulnerability-reporting contact, and how a patched build will be re-tested or documented.
  8. Service in India. Name the repair and replacement centre that will serve the site, with turnaround times. For how cameras feed a command centre, see the control rooms guide.

Six checks per brand before an announcement is bid as a product

  1. Vivotek: which models are built at Krishnagiri, their R-numbers and registrant, price and lead time.[26]
  2. CP Plus: any shipping model that uses the L&T SoC, and the R-numbers of the CP Plus and NEXIVUE models offered.[47]
  3. Sparsh: the DMP-based camera’s launch date, analytics and VMS interoperability.[42]
  4. All brands: model-specific ER-01 evidence, since local assembly proves neither compliance nor model coverage.
  5. Honeywell, CP Plus and others: affected models and firmware against current advisories, fix versions and end-of-support dates.[41][44]
  6. Bosch and Panasonic: any India camera launch, local availability and channel, not an older or global announcement.

Trisim’s view: check the R-number before the logo

Brand reputation was built on cameras that may now be made by different factories, under different owners, on different firmware. Since mid-2025 Bosch’s video business has changed owner and name, Vivotek has been folded into Delta and March Networks, and Aditya has added a brand. The registration, the factory behind it and the firmware hash are what a city actually buys, so put those in the schedule first.
