Bangkok’s Smart City and Security Expos: 18–20 November
Thailand Smart City Expo 2026 and Secutech Thailand 2026 run side by side at QSNCC, Bangkok, from 18 to 20 November, linking city platforms with the surveillance, fire-safety and building systems that protect them
This post argues that staging Thailand Smart City Expo and Secutech Thailand together reflects where smart cities are heading: their real value lies not in how many cameras, sensors, networks or command centres are deployed, but in how effectively these technologies integrate, exchange information, anticipate risks and support better decisions.
Bangkok is preparing to become a major meeting point for the global smart infrastructure and security industry this November. The two events will take place simultaneously at the Queen Sirikit National Convention Center (QSNCC), bringing together smart city technology developers, security manufacturers, infrastructure specialists, government stakeholders and international OEMs. “City Intelligence: Predict, Prevent, Protect” captures the shift from conventional urban management towards predictive, AI-enabled and interconnected city operations.
Thailand’s digital economy agency and Messe Frankfurt are behind the two shows
Thailand Smart City Expo is organised with the involvement of Thailand’s Digital Economy Promotion Agency (depa) and NCC Management & Development. Secutech Thailand forms part of Messe Frankfurt’s international security and fire-safety exhibition ecosystem. Their simultaneous staging connects smart city development with the technologies needed to protect, operate and manage urban infrastructure.

Ten exhibitors to watch range from Hikvision to a Thai space agency
The published exhibitor directory features organisations spanning AI, IoT, geospatial technology, professional visualisation, enterprise infrastructure and smart mobility. The following are worth watching from the perspective of technology partnerships and infrastructure deployment.
- Hikvision IoT (Thailand) — Video surveillance, AIoT and intelligent security. Relevant to city surveillance, traffic monitoring, public safety and AI-enabled urban monitoring.
- Aetina Corporation — Taiwan-based edge AI computing, GPU-enabled systems and industrial computing. Relevant to video analytics, edge inference and industrial AI.
- EIZO Corporation — Japan-based professional display and visualisation technology. Relevant to ICCC video walls, surveillance control rooms and mission-critical visualisation.
- GISTDA — Thailand’s Geo-Informatics and Space Technology Development Agency. Geospatial and satellite capabilities relevant to flood monitoring, GIS, urban planning and disaster response.
- QSAN Technology — Taiwan-based enterprise storage technology. Relevant to video surveillance archives, data centres and AI data platforms.
- Plustek — Imaging and scanning hardware for business applications. Relevant to digital government, document management and records digitisation.
- Wohr Parking Systems — Automated parking technology. Relevant to smart parking, commercial developments and urban mobility.
- Mitsubishi Elevator (Thailand) — Vertical transportation and elevator systems. Relevant to smart buildings and integration with access control and building management.
- SYNNEX (Thailand) — Technology distribution and enterprise solutions. Relevant to regional channel development and OEM market access.
- SiS Distribution Thailand — IT distribution and technology channel services. Relevant to enterprise IT, networking and system-integrator ecosystems.
The ten organisations illustrate the breadth of the smart city ecosystem—from AI edge computing and data storage to geospatial intelligence, smart mobility and technology distribution. They are not all independent hardware manufacturers: GISTDA is a government agency, while SYNNEX and SiS are distribution businesses.
Secutech Thailand treats security and fire safety as city infrastructure
Running alongside Thailand Smart City Expo, Secutech Thailand will focus on security, fire safety and intelligent building technologies for commercial, industrial and public-sector infrastructure. Key areas include:
- Intelligent video surveillance and analytics: AI-enabled cameras, video management platforms, object detection, facial analytics, perimeter protection and automated incident detection.
- Access control and integrated security: Biometric authentication, RFID, smart locks, visitor management and integrated physical security.
- Fire detection and life safety: Addressable fire alarms, smoke detectors, fire control panels, suppression technologies and emergency lighting.
- Smart building and automation: Building Management Systems (BMS), HVAC controls, sensors, gateways and connected building technologies.
- Industrial and infrastructure safety: Occupational safety, disaster prevention, rescue systems and integrated industrial security.
The concurrent Fire & Safety Thailand platform adds another dimension, covering fire prevention, detection, suppression and emergency response.
Cities are moving from surveillance to a common operational picture
The next generation of urban infrastructure aims to combine data from video analytics, IoT sensors, traffic systems, environmental networks and emergency services into a common operational picture. Potential applications include predictive traffic management, AI-powered crowd monitoring, flood early-warning systems, Integrated Command and Control Centres (ICCCs), emergency response and real-time monitoring of critical assets.
Indian integrators can use Bangkok to find alternative manufacturers
For Indian system integrators, OEM distributors, technology consultants and infrastructure developers, Bangkok offers an opportunity to discover alternative manufacturers and explore partnerships. Relevant sourcing areas include AI video analytics, edge computing, industrial IoT gateways, smart sensors, fire detection, building automation, access control, enterprise storage and intelligent traffic systems.

Trisim’s view: smart cities are judged by how well their systems work together
The simultaneous organisation of Thailand Smart City Expo and Secutech Thailand reflects an important shift in the global infrastructure industry. Smart cities are no longer defined simply by the number of cameras, sensors, communication networks or command centres deployed. Their real value lies in how effectively these technologies integrate, exchange information, anticipate risks and support better decisions.
By bringing together smart city platforms, security systems, fire safety, building automation and AI-driven infrastructure, Bangkok’s November exhibitions provide an opportunity to explore how the next generation of urban environments will be designed and operated.
